I’m so excited to officially launch Vocal Workout #1, the first video in my brand-new Vocal Workout Series designed to help singers build strength, range, and control through consistent, intentional warm-ups.
Why I Created the Vocal Workout Series
As a choir director, singer, and teacher, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful a good warm-up can be — and how quickly progress stalls without consistency.
Warm-ups shouldn’t be:
- Random
- Rushed
- Or something singers tune out
They should:
- Prepare the voice safely
- Reinforce healthy technique
- Build skills over time
This series was created to give singers and teachers a repeatable, reliable warm-up routine they can return to week after week.
What Is Vocal Workout #1?
Vocal Workout #1 is a guided warm-up designed to be used:
- At the start of choir rehearsal
- In voice lessons
- As part of a daily personal practice routine
In this workout, we focus on:
- Proper hum technique
- Breath into phonation
- Releasing vowel sounds from resonance
- Keeping the sound bright and forward
- Circular motion
- Exercises to challenge and inspire agility, range and precision
The exercises are approachable, effective, and designed to be repeated regularly — because progress comes from consistency, not pushing.
